Red velvet cake is one of the best desserts around. In fact, it is so popular that people make them not just as a cake, but as a candy, cupcake, lipgloss, and many more. They are so delicious that it’s hard to just eat one slice and call it a day! So, we thought that we should make a red velvet cake that is kosher friendly!
2 cups flour
1 cup sugar
¾ cup buttermilk
2 tbsp red food coloring
⅓ tsp baking soda
2 tsp vanilla
2 tbsp cocoa powder
Sift the flour, baking soda, sugar, cocoa powder and salt, together. Using a separate bowl, add egg, oil, buttermilk, vinegar, vanilla, and food coloring. Whisk them together at a medium speed until you have a good mixture.
Bake the cake at 350 for about 30 minute or until you have successfully done the toothpick test.
1 stick of butter at room temperature
2 ¼ cups of powdered sugar
1 tbsp vanilla
Whisk the butter until it is creamy and smooth. Add vanilla, sugar and milk together and whisk until you have a silky consistency. Add additional sugar if it’s needed.
