Baby Namings & Brit Milahs
Having a baby boy means you only have eight days to coordinate his brit milah. This is not as complicated as you think! Under the guidance of a mohel, a successful brit is underway. Even with a simple Google or internet research, it’s easy to find the information you need to perform one with ease. Usually, a brit milah is held on the eighth day that the child was born, and this process is done in the morning.
The brit milah happens on the eighth day, and it can fall on Yom Kippur or Shabbat. If health issues impede the child to attend the brit milah, you’re welcome to reschedule it except for Shabbat or any other holiday. Your mohel is in charge of making sure the baby is healthy enough for the ceremony unless a doctor contests otherwise.
