Best Turkey Meatloaf Recipe

Meatloaf is a dish most enjoyed from many countries like the United States and Jewish communities. There are many ways to make a meatloaf, and in Jewish cuisines, it’s called Klops. This dish consists of ground meat along with other ingredients that are shaped into a loaf. After that, it’s smoked or baked. The shape is formed by hand or simply using a loaf pan. It’s popularly recognized to use ground beef, but many ingredients can differ as some countries use pork or poultry. Either way, we know that they’re delicious.

So, today, you’ll learn how to make a traditional turkey meatloaf with ease!

What you’ll need:

2 tablespoons extra virgin olive oil

3 cups chopped yellow onions

1 teaspoon black pepper

2 teaspoon kosher salt

1/3 cup Worcestershire sauce

1 teaspoon thyme leaves

1 1/2 teaspoon tomato paste

3/4 chicken stock

1 1/2 cups bread crumbs

5 lbs ground turkey

3/4 cup ketchup

3 beaten eggs

Directions:

  • Set the oven to preheat to 325 degrees Fahrenheit.
  • Using a saucepan, set the heat to medium-low, and add thyme, pepper, salt olive oil, and onions. Saute until the onions are translucent. Do this for about 15 minutes.
  • Add tomato paste, chicken stock, and Worcestershire sauce and combine well. Let this mixture cool to room temperature when you’re done.
  • Next, mix the onion mixture, eggs, bread crumbs, and ground turkey together. Evenly blend everything and form it into a loaf. To make this easier, add it to the rectangular pan. Do not grease the pan. Spread the ketchup on the top, and leave it in the oven for about 1 1/2 hours on the inside of the loaf is at 160 degrees Fahrenheit.
